1C:ERP performance is sufficient for the largest companies

1C Company announces the successful completion of load testing of the flagship 1C:ERP solution for 30,000 simultaneous users in a single infobase based on PostgreSQL DBMS from 1C on Linux.

According to the results of load testing with performance monitoring using the APDEX (Application Performance Index) method, the system demonstrated a performance index of 0.858, which corresponds to the "Good" rating and ensures a comfortable user experience.

The testing has confirmed the high stability and efficiency of 1C:ERP with 30,000 simultaneous users. This corresponds to the size of large companies with hundreds of thousands of employees (not all employees use ERP the whole day). At the moment, 1C Company has not received requests for more than 30,000 users in one ERP database, and the company does not know any enterprises that may have such a request.

Goals and objectives of testing

The load testing was aimed at:

Taking into account the requirements of 1C Company's largest customers, including Russian Railways, Gazprom Neft PJSC, State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom and their IT subsidiaries.
Supporting the migration of corporate clients to Linux and PostgreSQL.
Simulating the real-world working conditions of large enterprises with 30,000 simultaneous users.
Identifying and eliminating bottlenecks associated with simultaneous user operation.
Ensuring the smooth system operation and the absence of technological errors.

Testing conditions

The testing was conducted on the 1C:Enterprise server cluster using the "Test center" tool from 1C:Corporate Toolset. The database size was about 1 TB, and the testing scenario included modeling the operations of key ERP users such as production schedulers, sales representatives, procurement officers, warehouse keepers, accountants, and others.

Results

The test results confirmed that 1C:ERP can run effectively under high load, which makes it an effective solution for automating large enterprises, corporations, and holding companies. The system ensures stable operation even with tens of thousands of simultaneous users, which is especially important for companies with multi-shift schedule and a large number of employees.

The database is filled with data for 2 months of a large enterprise operation: about 10 million documents. DBMS, server cluster, and loaders with 1C:Enterprise thin clients were deployed on Linux.

The chosen scenario simulated the real load on the system and reproduced the daily operation of the main ERP users:

• Chief production scheduler
• Local production scheduler
• Chief procurement officer
• Sales representative
• Warehouse keeper
• Inventory consumption
• Production planning
• Budgeting
• Fixed asset accountant
• AR/AP accountant
• Accountant

All user actions were performed subject to record-level access restrictions (RLS).
