Challenges
Flexible ERP for manufacturing industry
The company's business is to develop, assemble, and sell gas turbines and provide maintenance services. It required a comprehensive information system to automate all of the key processes – not only financial management and accounting but production, logistics, sales operations, and supply management as well.
Powerful functionality of the 1C:Enterprise platform, its high adaptability to the requirements of local business, support for integrated automation of all key tasks of a manufacturing enterprise, and relatively inexpensive adaptation to possible changes in business processes - those were the most significant factors that drove Siemens to use 1C:ERP for this project.
Results
Full automation of built-to-order production cycle
When implementing the new ERP system, the integrating company (KORUS Consulting) took into account the specifics of company's business – focus on individual products built to order.
This project involved most of the functional modules of 1C:ERP, some of them required modification of standard features. For example, the Production Control module was modified for the purpose of integration with other information systems used in the enterprise, such as SAP and Oracle Primavera.
Financial system of the enterprise was fully automated, including complex tax accounting (the split VAT system), the accounting cycle, and support for financial reporting in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
The new system helped Siemens to automate the entire built-to-order production cycle including order processing, generation of route sheets, production control, automated cost calculation, Purchase to Pay process, multi-currency budgeting and more.
